Karla Diaz
Rector
Karla was born in Nicaragua and raised in the beautiful sunshine city of Miami, Florida. Karla served for eight years in different ministries in her local parish Saint John Bosco Catholic Church. It was during this time of service that Karla became interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Theology. She graduated from Barry University with a theology degree. At Barry, Karla worked as a clerical assistant in Campus Ministry and she co-founded the Dominican Young Adults chapter for the university. Before entering her graduate studies, Karla worked for the Archdiocese of Miami. In May 2022, Karla graduated with a Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame. During her time at Notre Dame, Karla served as a co-leader in Saint Adalbert Catholic Church’s RCIA program for Spanish speakers and assisted the Director of Hispanic Ministry in the Fort Wayne-South Bend dioceses. Karla also served as a sacristan in the Malloy chapel, worked as an online course assistant for the Camino program, and as an Assistant Rector in Cavanaugh Hall. Karla enjoys watching Kdramas, 90’s rom-com movies, as well as listening to 90’s Hip-pop, and R&B music. She enjoys a good burger and a good laugh. Catch her in the ’90s.
Julia Greenwood

Hello loveliest Lyonites! I’m Julia, and I’m from small-town New Jersey. I went to Georgetown University for college, and since then this East Coaster has been in the Midwest – first in Wisconsin for two years, serving in a Catholic parish through Notre Dame’s Echo Graduate Service Program, and now here on campus, studying for a Master of Divinity. I love baking and snail mail and Taylor Swift, and I am SO excited to be back again in Lyons for another year with you all!

Hi! I’m Aileen, and I’m from San Diego, CA. I graduated from Brown with a degree in History and am currently a 2L at the Law School. This will be my first year as an AR and I am so excited to be a part of the Lyons community! I love going to brunch, blasting Taylor Swift, and rooting for the LA Clippers (especially #2). I am looking forward to a great year of getting to know each and every one of you!

I am a Computer Science and Industrial Design double major from South Bend, IN. In my free time I enjoy reading, sewing, and cooking. One of my favorite things to do on campus is going for long walks around the lake (I prefer St. Mary's Lake). Feel free to stop by my room anytime for some snacks!
I'm from Cincinnati, OH, and I'm studying History and Theology. I spent my first three years on campus in Walsh Hall, but I am utterly hyped to be serving as an RA in Lyons this year! You may often find me running or walking around the lakes, drinking tea before it has reached a drinkable temperature, or gazing at my dude, Gilbert, as he swims around his tank (he is a fish). I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!
Seoyoon Ahn
2nd floor (2B) RA
I am an international student from Seoul, South Korea majoring in Economics with minors in Digital Marketing and Japanese. Some of the things I love are going on random bike rides to Trader Joe’s, running in the Lyons gym, and listening to music, ranging from K-pop to show tunes. On campus, I currently work as a TA for Marketing, was involved in SIBC, and used to tutor Japanese at the CSLC. Also, I have a really cute Yorkie named Harry back home. I’m super excited to get to know you all!
Christina Sayut
3rd floor RA
I am a B.F.A. Candidate in Visual Communications Design with minors in musical theatre and studio art ceramics. I work as the Graphics Editor for The Observer and I am also the Social Media Coordinator for Campus Ministry! I studied abroad for a summer in Rome, but can normally be found on campus in the art and design buildings or LaFun pretending to do work. In my free time I like to talk (sometimes you can hear me on every floor), pretend that I’m good at guitar, make silly crafts, and go on runs around the lake!
Sam Blake
2nd floor (2A) RA
I am a Neuroscience (BS) and Spanish major with a minor in Poverty Studies. I am originally from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, but my favorite memories are hiking on the North Shore by Lake Superior :) On campus, I do research studying retinal regeneration in the Hyde lab, I am a captain on the club ND Ultimate Frisbee team, and I work as a student-athlete tutor. My junior fall I studied abroad in Puebla, Mexico. I love calling Lyons my home on campus, and I can't wait to get to know y'all!

I'm from the South Bend area studying Theology. I enjoy playing guitar, listening to music, traveling, and playing sports. I studied abroad the fall of last year in Dublin, Ireland, at Trinity College. I'm so excited to be your RA and welcome you all to Lyons!
