SYR Dance
"Screw Your Roommate"
Every fall, Lyons hosts a casual, fun, themed dance! All Lyons ladies are welcome to attend along with a guest to have a night filled with costumes and dance moves. Oftentimes (as seen in the name), your roommate has the ability to pick a date for you or vice versa if you do not know who to bring! A date is not necessary to attend, however, and you can have a fun night however you want! In the week leading up to the dance, Lyons hosts a “Pride Week” filled with a variety of fun activities and events. Over the last few years, themes have included 90s, Galaxy, Dynamic Duos, Life in the Dream House., and Lyon Country.
Lyons Formal
In addition to the SYR dance, Lyons holds a themed formal dance every spring. All Lyons ladies are welcome to attend along with a guest to have a great time dancing the night away! In the past, we've had Red Carpet and Oscars-themed formals.
Lyons Love
Each year, Lyons sells candy grams around campus the week before Valentine’s Day. Then, we package these candy grams and deliver them to each dorm. The money raised from this event last year went to Feed My Starving Children.
Volley for the Vets
Each fall, Lyons and Carroll host a volleyball tournament on the sand volleyball courts next to Lyons and Carroll. Teams are encouraged to pick a costume or theme. The money raised goes to the Robert L. Miller Sr. Veteran’s Center in South Bend.
