DORM ROOMS

Lyons has singles, doubles, triples, and quads available. First year residents will most likely be placed in either a double or a quad.

Every room in Lyons is different, giving Lyons special charm. Each Lyons resident will be provided a...

  • Bed (with a mattress, ladder, and extra bed frames which can be used to reconfigure the bed so it is lofted, bunked, or at any desired height)

  • Wardrobe (comes with 3 extra drawers for storage that can be used as a nightstand if desired)

  • Dresser (with three pull-out drawers)

  • Desk

  • Desk Chair

  • Sink (with mirror above)

BED

The beds are sized twin XL. All beds have the ability to loft, but not every room has enough. space for this capability (especially some freshman quads), resulting in having to bunk.

Most students bring a mattress pad so as to make to bed much more comfortable.

DOUBLES

2 residents will share one room. Most often, beds are bunked or lofted to give residents as much room as possible.

If unlofted, most people will still elevate the bed and put their dresser underneath for extra room.

QUADS

Quads are shared by 4 roommates. They consist of 3 rooms: a common room and two side rooms. The two sides rooms are like small doubles where you will share a bedroom with one roommate. Most often, beds are lofted with desks and dressers underneath or beds are bunked and elevated with dressers underneath. The common room can be anything you and your roommates decide! A lot of people get a futon and TV to make a hangout room.  Others like to put their desks in it to make a study area.  It is all up to you... there are several different layouts you can use!

Here's an example of one of the side rooms.  You will share this room with one roommate.  It will have a door connecting to a common room; through the common room, there will be another door to your other 2 roommates' room.

Here's an example of a common room with all 4 desks, but keep in mind that there are many more layouts people use. A lot of people get a futon and TV and use it as a hangout space, keeping their desks in the other rooms.
